NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit at St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research (SJIPR) remains a cornerstone of student-led community development, operating under the core philosophy of “Not Me, But You.”, The unit’s activities are strategically divided into two major area-based projects: “Clean, Green, and Plastic Free” and “Community Health Awareness.” Through these initiatives, volunteers have successfully led environmental conservation efforts such as the Shirgaon Beach cleanliness drive and extensive tree plantation programs, while simultaneously addressing critical health issues through World AIDS Day rallies and the “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan” (Addiction-Free Campaign).

A defining highlight of this year’s tenure was the Special Residential Camp held from November 24 to November 30, 2025, in Walvanda, Jawahar. During this week-long immersion, volunteers worked directly with the rural community, focusing on school educational visits and village sanitation projects to foster a deeper understanding of grassroots social issues. Additionally, the unit actively participated in national and university-level celebrations, including International Yoga Day, Independence Day, and National Voter’s Day on January 23, 2026, to promote civic responsibility. By blending pharmaceutical expertise with social service, the SJIPR NSS Unit continues to develop the character of its students while making a tangible, positive impact on society.
